Andy Sheppard
Allegis Group
VP/CISO
Andrew Sheppard is the Vice President and CISO at Allegis Group, a position he has held for 9 years. He brings nearly 40 years of IT experience, including 27 years with the Allegis Group family of companies and 15 years of direct information security experience. Allegis Group is a global leader in talent solutions with 500+ offices/locations worldwide. Allegis has annual revenue exceeding $10B, operations in over 50 countries, has 30k+ internal employees and places 125k people to work each day as consultants and contractors.
Under Shep's leadership, Allegis has deliberately evolved Information Security from a technical support function into a strategic business imperative—separating it from IS and establishing it as its own function reporting directly to the CFO. His Allegis journey began in 1999 as a Business Information Officer and then the CIO for the multi-billion-dollar sister company Maxim Healthcare. He is no stranger to incidents and compliance investigations, having dealt with numerous large and small data breaches and in a previous role was the Custodian of Record for 22 Grand Jury subpoenas from the DOJ. Since 2017 he has led the Information Security function at Allegis, continuing to expand the scope and scale of this critical business capability. Shep's recent work includes a major focus for the last 3 years leading efforts to address nation-state fraud activity, including threat-informed controls and operational responses working with intel agencies and the FBI.
Prior to Allegis, Shep has held executive and senior leadership positions within the IT organizations of numerous privately held and public, multi-billion-dollar companies. Throughout his career, he has focused on guiding teams through the disciplines of process and procedure development, relationship management, governance, information security, and regulatory compliance. He is recognized for ensuring technology initiatives are delivered effectively, efficiently and in alignment with business priorities. Shep's strengths include defining business strategy through strong relationship management, aligning information technology capabilities with organizational objectives and building highly effective cross-functional teams that drive measurable business results.
Shep has been a member of the Forum since 2017 and currently serves as the SNG Representative to the Board. He holds a Master's Degree in Information Technology from Johns Hopkins University. He is also a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) and a Boardroom Certified Qualified Technology Expert (QTE).
